- Registered users of Entertainment Manager will receive a registered
- copy of the program on floppy, as well as a chance to voice any
- enhancements they would like to see. Suggestions will be considered,

- expand the program's usefulness.

- The registered version will allow you to specify an unlimited (within
- reason) number of category names for all categorized items. (ie: songs,
- movies)

- Installation:
-
- -place the files included in a unique sub-directory
-
- -before the initial use of Entertainment Manager, create the
- databases using the included program 'MAKEDB.EXE'.
- (Type 'MAKEDB' on the command line). This program
- will warn you that it will destroy any existing databases
- (in the current directory) before it proceeds.

- Starting Entertainment Manager:

- -start the program by typing 'ET' on the command line

- Using Entertainment Manager:

- DATA ENTRY:
- All add functions are on a 'scrolling form'. Generally
- speaking, the top of the forms are information about the
- tape or album, then below, is an area that will scroll
- downward to allow you to enter songs or movies.

- DATA ENTRY FUNCTION KEYS:
- Backspace - delete previous character
- Left arrow - move 1 character left
- Right arrow - move 1 character right
- Up arrow - move to previous field
- Down arrow - move to next field
- Delete - delete current character
- Home - First character of field
- End - Last character of field
- Insert - Toggle insert mode
- Enter - move to next field
- Tab - move to next field
- Shift+Tab - move to previous field
- Ctrl+Left arrow - move to previous word
- Ctrl+Right arrow - move to next word
- Ctrl+Home - Clear Field
- Ctrl+End - Clear from cursor to end of Field
- Ctrl+PgUp - First field on form
- Ctrl+PgDn - Last field on form
- 'ADD' ADDITIONAL FUNCTION KEY:
- F9 - Save current record and Add another
- F10 - Save and exit
- 'EDIT' ADDITIONAL FUNCTION KEYS:
- F5 - Save current record and 'jump' (by selection) to another
- F8 - Save current record and go to previous record
- F9 - Save current record and go to next record
- F10 - Save and exit

- Items with songs contain an artist field both in the general information
- section and for each individual song. If the artist in the general
- info section is filled with ANYTHING but 'MULTIPLE' (IN ALL CAPS) the
- artist fields in each song will be automatically skipped.

- -Movies by Title - alphabetical list of movies that includes
- movie title and tape number
- -Movies by Tape - list of tapes that includes movies on that

- -Movies by Category - listing of movies under each category
- -Value List - listing of tapes and their value with total
- -All - list of tapes with all information entered
- -Labels - once the destination is selected, pick one or many
- tapes to print labels for. Press <ESC> to stop.
- If the destination is the screen, they will be
- displayed once <ESC> is pressed. If the destination
- is a file or the printer they will be output as
- you select them
- -COMPACT DISCS
- -Search - searches cds for album, artist, song and category
- -Print
- -Album/Artist - list of cds with artist
- -Songs by Album - list of cds that includes songs on them
- -Songs - alphabetical list of songs that includes song title and
- cd name
- -Songs by Category - listing of songs under each category
- -Value List - listing of cds and their value with total
- -All - list of cds with all information entered
- -CASSETTE
- -Search - searches cassettes for album, artist, song and category

- -Enter the printer setup strings as decimal numbers
- -The normal string should set your printer to 10 or 12 cpi, and
- 6 lines per inch (lpi)
- -The compressed string should set your printer to 17 cpi, and
- 8 lines per inch

- Included utility 'REINDEX.EXE':
- In the event your index files get deleted or you believe them to be
- corrupted, run the utility by typing 'REINDEX' on the command line and
- it will recreate the index files for the existing databases.
